I Want to Work on Women-centric Movies: Dibakar Banerjee
Having worked on several men-centric movies, filmmaker Dibakar Banerjee has now planned to do a few women-centric movies.
“Certainly, I want to do some women-centric projects as I have already spent too much time on creating men-centric movies,” says Banerjee in a press conference when asked about the chances of making women-oriented movies.
While promoting his most awaited movie called Byomkesh Bakshi, the versatile filmmaker talked about several different aspects from Hollywood to relation between Bollywood and rest of Indian cinema.
The movie Byomkesh Bakshy features Sushant Singh Rajput as the lead role. The movie is likely to be released on 3rd of April in 2015. The forthcoming movie is based on fictional character called Byomkesh Bakshy. This fictional detective was created by prominent Bengali author Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay.
The maker of Khosla Ka Ghosla is renowned to rope in several actors from regional film industry especially from Bengal, and thus Detective Byomkesh Bakshy isn’t an exception. The new movie stars several Bengali actors and actresses, such as Swastika and Prosenjit Chatterjee.
Banerjee said that that if Bollywood starts working with regional film industry, it is likely to achieve new heights. Banerjee further says that the same thing is being already in practice in Hollywood that pools in talent from Australia, Canada and Europe.
The versatile filmmaker says, “I think it is the right time to think about this point as Indian cinema is going to be new destination for world cinema.” There is too much buzz regarding his upcoming movie Byomkesh Bakshy. We can hope that his movie do great on box office.
