What Did Princess Diana Leave to Her Sons?
A new British site has archived public documents from 1858 onwards, and for mere USD 15 you can have an insight into Princess Diana's will. The originals of 41 million wills are kept in a temperature-controlled building in Birmingham.
The document states that Diana left USD 30 million to her sons, Prince William and Prince Harry. She also demanded that her mother is to be consulted regarding her sons' education. Paul Burrell, her butler and close friend, is getting USD 80,000 tax-free. It is obvious that she wanted to take care of her children in the incident of her death, and the will is a clear proof of that, argue some. It is speculated that this aspect became crucial to her after the split up with Prince Charles.
Besides her charity work, the bulimia disorder, endless graciousness and impeccable style, she is perhaps most known for her legendary wedding dress. The dress was embellished with thousands of pearls and came with a 25-foot train. It was left to William and Harry. Other items, such as paintings, were left to her 17 godchildren.
Those who find browsing through prominent persons’ wills interesting will be delighted to know that they now have an insight into wills of George Orwell (search under his real name – Eric Blair), Winston Churchill and the author of Winnie the Pooh, A.A. Milne. Even if taking a true interest in this hobby is kind of morbid.
